Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is a great way to explore the mangroves in the Barwon River. The stand up paddleboard is your vehicle which enables you to get up close to nature. This experience allows you opportunities to explore the wonders which live in and around the Barwon River, interact with live animals and provides hands on experience discovering why the mangroves are so important to our ecosystem.
Lesson covers topics including water safety, equipment knowledge, carry technique, paddle turns, stance and correct strokes. Once you have become familiar with paddling the board the experience begins.
In no time we are surrounded by the wonders that the mangroves have to offer. Our stand up paddleboard is the perfect vehicle, allowing us to glide right into the mangrove habitat and experience the tranquil environment from a unique perspective. Whether you’d prefer to glide along for private discovery and take in the local scenery, or get a sturdy workout while exploring the sounds and sights on the river, the pace is up to you on our paddle back. By the end of the tour you will have discovered a new low impact watersport which increases your core strength and balance whilst discovering the amazing wonders of the Barwon River.
